Optimus Primetime Forgiveness

In War of the Dinobots, Megatron and the Decepticons turned the Dinobots against fellow Dinobots and Optimus Prime.    Megatron used these friendly prehistoric shaped transformers to gather energon cubes and to fight Autobots.  After the Autobots won the battle, Grimlock, the T-Rex dinobot, asked Optimus for forgiveness.  Optimus responded with, “The Meteorite Menace is gone.  Let’s roll for home.”  All Optimus cares about is the safety of earth and the Autobots, his people.   In the light of death, Optimus was not concerned with blaming Grimlock.  Because he kept his eye of the big picture and not the small stuff, he was able to forgive and continue leading his people home.  Good kings always remember mortality. They are able to make timely decisions to lead, bless, and protect in the light of death.  They may even see death and deadlines as a friend and are able to lead a life of eminent joy and glory.

I, on the other hand, sweat the small stuff.  I soak it with trials and tribulations.  I’m lucky if I don’t road rage on slow drivers.  And fast drivers.  And moronic drivers.  If I’m late, watch out.  I’ll show you, “King of the Road.”  Even though the evil Megatron tried to kill him in the recent transformer movie, Optimus still saw Megatron as one of his own family, “You left me no choice brother.”  Optimus Prime’s vision and forgiveness extended even to his enemies–his protection covered all.  Jesus expected us to do the same, to extend our love and forgiveness even to our enemies—his protection and authority over all.  He did so on the cross.  Hebrews says, “for the joy set before Him, He endured.” Consequently, this is our commission to be Primes, to be Kings to others.

See full size imageHow can I lead a life of constant, moment-to-moment forgiveness—of the world, imperfections, others, and myself?  How can I keep daily perspective of the big picture, even of death and after as an ally?  Listening and asking questions of myself and others helps me.  “How does this situation affect my daily goals?  Weekly?  Yearly?”  Remembering my personal life mission statement also helps.  Fellow blogger and life coach Erik Racine provides simple guidelines to creating a mission statement.  Erik also likes to bless his moments, easy and hard, with the phrase “It’s perfect.”   I prefer, “Livin’ the Dream!”  How do you practice daily forgiveness?  What exercises, strategies, and attitudes do you practice?

  • What if each moment and feeling you experience is exactly right for that moment?
  • How do you bless each moment—easy ones and hard?  How do you forgive constantly and consistently?
  • How do you keep your eye on the big picture?
  • Do you see death and deadlines as allies?  If so, how do they affect your decisions and your day-to-day living?

How do you lead life?  Do you hurtle towards death with fear, anger, and cursing or with joy, blessing, and optimism (ah, ah, ah)?

As a special treat for making it through this juvenile post, I give you this fun formula to test on your friends:

name of a machine (drop the last syllable)  + -atron or -acon = evil transformer.

For example: Refridgeratron, Televisatron, Garbagecanacon, Blackberracon, or I-Phonatron.

  • For  and evil leader: Mega + Name + -atron,- acon, or- valtron.  Megafridgeratron.

It even works with non machines—Megamantatron.  Megajoevaltron.

  • A whole species of evil robots = the verb form of a sin or things that Satan would do + acon, atron.

Deceptacons, accusatrons, condemnacons, fornicatacon.  Ok.  That one a little silly.

  • A good robot is easy, you just add –bot.

Blackberrybot.

  • But here’s the best:  name + icus + prime = awesome giant robot leader.

Refridgicus Prime.  Marcus Prime.   Or my favorite, Manticus Prime.

Now, find your Prime Name and transform your office or home.  Tell me what happens.
